Abu Dhabi and Dubai are located approximately 140 kilometers (85 miles) apart along the modern E11 Sheikh Zayed Highway. The drive takes about 75 to 90 minutes. Many visitors take a full-day excursion from Dubai or split their UAE stay with 2 to 3 nights in each emirate.
The Grand Mosque strictly enforces a conservative dress code. All visitors must wear loose-fitting, non-transparent clothing covering arms to wrists and legs to ankles. Women must also cover their head and hair with a scarf (abayas are available for purchase if your attire does not meet requirements). Footwear is removed before stepping onto prayer carpets.
